Scientists have discovered that bacteria, normally found in our mouths, is a tool that can be use to invade heart tissue, causing a dangerous and sometimes lethal infection of the heart known as endocarditis. S. mutans is a bacterium best known for causing cavities.
The study done raises the possibility of creating a screening tool – perhaps a swab of the cheek, or a spit test to gauge a dental patient’s vulnerability to the condition.
Normally, S. mutans normally confine themselves to the mouth, but sometimes, after a dental procedure or even after a vigorous bout of flossing, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream. Our immune system usually destroys them, but occasionally – within just a few seconds – they travel to the heart and colonize its tissue, especially heart valves. The bacteria can cause endocarditis – inflammation of heart valves – which can be deadly. Infection by S. mutans is a leading cause of the condition.

I am looking for the best family dental insurance plan in California. Cost is not an issue as long as I can get a family plan without so many limitations. I do not want to buy a dental insurance plan and still have to wait a year or more to have full use of all it benefits.
I have a family of three and with two kids I want them to be able to have all their dental care needs met when needed not a year from now. I also would like for it not to have a low maximum annul dollar amount per person either. I am looking for at least $2000.00 or more per person.
So far I have not seen any dental plans that fit my needs they are either dental discount plans that do not offer all much of real savings or PPO plans that are so high in cost with crazy limitations that make you wonder why would anyone even buy it.

We live in California and I am trying to find an affordable family dental plan that I can get for my wife and two children. We do not have any dental insurance currently and I figure I can afford to spend around $45 – $65 a month for a family dental insurance plan but not much more then that. What do you have to offer in my price range and how fast can we use it. I am hoping to find a plan in California that is not only within my budget but will not have too many limitations.
