Men oral health care is just as important as women oral health care however, men are less likely then women to take care of their oral health needs. Even though good oral health as been linked with longevity, the common factors associated with infrequent dental checkups is just being male.
Men are less likely then women to seek preventive dental care from a dentist and often neglect their oral health for years. Only visiting a dentist when larger dental issues arises from neglect. According to oral health statistics men will lose 5.4 teeth by the age of 72 and are more likely to develop oral and throat cancer as well as periodontal disease.

I have already gone on line and serch for Individual Dental Insurance and found a few different dental plan options. The affordable dental plans that I have review are all dental discount plans. I would rather have a dental insurance plan that is affordable. However with that said with the dental insurance plans have a monthly cost that is more then I can really afford. Are there any dental insurance plans that would be in between the two affordable but still insurance?

I like to know what is a good individual dental insurance plan for braces? I have done some research and nailed it down to either DeltaCare and Pacificare Dental. So which dental insurance is better, or any other suggestions? Both are HMO plans, PPO plans I seen are either too costly for me or they do not offer adult braces. Though I am concerned about the quality of the services as far as making claims and such. So I think either one of these two plans make work but like some feed back.

I am a college student with current dental coverages under my parents dental plan. However the plan only up to $1500.00 per person per year. This will not be enough for me since I just found out that I will be needing to have all of my wisdom teeth extracted, as well as I possibly may need to have three root canals. After my plan pay out $1500.00 I do not think I can afford the remaining cost. Would getting my own individual dental insurance plan help and what plans would be good?

I pierced my lip around a week ago. Since then I had a metallic taste in my mouth. Will it eventually go away and is this normal? And how long will the piercing remain sore for? I am taking care of the piercing as instructed but it seems that it is taking a while to heal.

My friend and family try to get those sparkling white teeth but even with daily brushing and rinsing that they do they do not get their teeth all that white. I have read adds with mouthwashes/toothpastes and strips that ”work”. But do not know what really does whiten your teeth the best. Have you used products that helped you achieve that sparkling smile? If so can you advise what whitening product really worked for you. So that I am not having to use many different products before finding the right one.

My teeth are very pointed some of my teeth even look like spikes and others like shorter normal teeth with sharp edges. I do not know why my teeth are like this but they do bug me. A dentist never said anything other then the fact that I do not have cavities. Please advise why and if there is anything that can make them more normal looking

So around two years ago I had my right canine baby tooth removed and it never grew back. Later when I went to the dentist while on vacation I found out I have an impacted canine tooth. The dentist told me about exposing it and having braces. However, I have to wait till I get home. My questions are should I do the braces thing or should I just have the canine removed and have an get an implant? Will my dental benefits I get though work end-up covering this because its not cosmetic

I do not really understand why at 28 I can not seem to find any dental insurance plan that affordable for a low income person like me. In fact the only low or free programs for dental care are all for children. As an adult, I’ve have to see a dentist way more often than when I was a kid. I recently had 3 wisdom teeth out, have a 4th one coming in, and I have to pay it all out of pocket because my small insurance policy won’t cover dental. I think it’s more important that adults get covered too.

Although I receive dental benefits though my current employer the plan provided is very limited and does not work well for me. I need more then just a twice a year basic cleaning. I a hoping you have something that would be better for all other basic dental care that is still low in cost so I can afford to get it.

For the most part, people know that brushing and flossing daily helps to maintaining teeth and gum health. However there are others ways to also help maintain teeth and gum health. Having a well-balanced diet provides the minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients essential for healthy teeth and gums. Fluoride, occurring naturally in foods and water, or added to the water supply, can be a powerful tool in fighting decay. It can reduce the rate of cavities by as much as 60 percent.

Gum Disease is an infection of the tissues and bone that help support the teeth. If untreated gum disease can become very serious dental issue causing teeth to become loose and even fall out. Gum disease is normally caused by plaque buildup. Plaque contains bacteria, which produce toxins that irritate and damage the gums. By having proper dental habits at home, and by having regular dental check ups you can help to prevent gum disease. A child should start seeing a dentist from the time they cut their first tooth or by their first birthday.
