Understanding the difference between a routine cleaning (Prophylaxis) and a Deep Cleaning.
Routine/Prophylaxis Cleaning: focuses on preventive dental care and the maintenance of healthy teeth and gums by the removal of calculus, plaque, and common stains. Normally performed twice a year by a dental hygienist or dentist along with your dental check up.
Deep Cleaning: is a procedure designed to help avoid periodontal disease (gum disease) Periodontal disease is caused by a buildup of calculus, and plaque on the crowns and root surfaces of teeth. It can begin as localized gingival inflammation and progress to serious disease that results in major damage to the soft tissue and the bone that supports the teeth. Left untreated, this disease progresses to the ultimate loss of teeth.

There are many people that still have poor dental hygiene. Sometimes this is due to cost, however there are much higher cost and risks associated to poor dental and oral hygiene. By having poor dental and oral hygiene you invite plaque build up around the base of your teeth and gum line. Which will cause your gums to be red and inflamed. If allowed to continue it will start to cause tooth decay and gum disease. If left uncared for can lead to destruction of bone and other fragile tissues supporting your teeth, and you could lose your teeth.

I am wanting to get the best family dental plan in California. Cost per say is not a large issue, as long as I can get a family plan without so many limitations. I do not want to buy a dental insurance plan and still have to wait a year or more to have full use of all the plans benefits.
I have a family of four and I want them to be able to have all their dental care needs met when needed not a year latter. I also would like for it not to have a low maximum annul dollar amount per person either. I am looking for at least $2000.00 per person do you have any dental plans that can fit my needs.

Living in California and I am looking for an affordable family dental plan that I can get for my wife and child. We do not have any dental insurance currently and I figure I can afford to spend around $50 – $70 a month for a family dental insurance plan but not much more then that. What do you have to offer in my price range and how fast can we use it.

While eating we can sometimes get food lodged between our teeth and gum that will not come out easily. If you are eating out at the time this can also be irritating to you and your gums. That said, never use a sharp object to remove anything from between your teeth. If this technique doesn’t work, and you can end up cracking or chipping a tooth. Best advise, carry dental floss with you at all times. I do not suggest flossing at the table but you can do so in the restroom.

Dental treatment can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the dental care you may need. Without having dental insurance your dental cost can quickly exceed what you can afford to spend. However having proper dental care is vital for both your oral and dental health and your over all medical health care. Dental care should not be ignored. If you have been delaying your dental care due to cost. then you may want to consider buying a dental plan to help reduce your dental costs making dental care more affordable.

Do you offer any dental insurance plans that come with vision benefits as well? I do not have either dental or vision care benefits and I would like to start taking better care of my oral and eye care health. I would need something affordable as I really can not spend to much for dental and vision. It would be great if I could keep it under 30 a month.

There are many people that have worries about dental x-rays being taken on an annual basis. This worries are compounded if they had recent medical x-rays also taken. It may help to understand that a complete series of dental X-rays emits as much radiation as does an hour in the sun. Many dental offices now offer digital x-rays which produce 1/10 the radiation that the old style x-rays produced.
However, if x-rays are not taken, the dentist can examine only about 50% of the tooth structure. It would be like asking the dentist to work with one hand tied behind their back. However, talk to your dentist about any X-rays worries you may have. If you have a history of good teeth they may be able to do X-rays less often.

I have a current dental discount plan that save me 20% of the cost of braces. This dental plan has been working well for my family so far. However, now my husband job is making us move. Will I still be able to get my 20% discount under the plan with another plan dentist.
