Many dentist are worried that teenagers are putting their teeth and oral health at risk by trying dangerous do-it-yourself teeth-whitening techniques found on the Internet. Many teenagers go to on line tips of do it yourself whitening since money and access to proper dental whitening care may not be in their reach.
However Children who are mixing up quantities of different chemical and applying them for long periods of time are at risk of eroding their tooth enamel and damaging their gums. In turn increasing their risk of oral infection. The best course of action is to talk to your dentist about safely whiting your teeth or what over the counter product they my suggest to be use.

For proper flossing one should floss before brushing their teeth. Knowing how to floss correctly is important for proper dental care.
Flossing: Measure an arms length of floss, approximately 18 inches, and wind each end around your middle fingers. Grasp 1 to 2 inches of the floss with your index (pointer) finger and thumb.

When brushing your teeth you want to brush correctly so that you are getting the full benefits from brushing which will improve your dental and oral health.
Proper brushing takes at least two minutes — that’s right, 120 seconds! Most adults do not come close to brushing that long. To properly brush your teeth, use short, gentle strokes, paying extra attention to the gumline, hard-to-reach back teeth and areas around fillings, crowns or other restoration. Concentrate on thoroughly cleaning each section as follows:
Clean the outer surfaces of your upper teeth, then your lower teeth
Clean the inner surfaces of your upper teeth, then your lower teeth
Clean the chewing surfaces
For fresher breath, be sure to brush your tongue, too

I have a 19 month old son and I been taking care of his teeth by brushing them twice a day and making sure he does not have too many sweets. My problem is he is really fussy when it comes to me brushing his teeth. Is there some easier way to make him less fussy? I sometime put off brushing his teeth until the last minute just because it is a hassle I could really use some good advise.

I have two girls we live in Southern California. My daughters have very good teeth, and I want to make sure they maintain their dental care. I changed jobs for better pay but lost the dental benefits I use to have. I am now looking for a good dental insurance plan that is still low in cost since I do not think we will ever need more then just the basic dental care.

Living in California is very costly. I have a good job but with a family of five their dental care gets to be too much. I am trying to find a dental insurance plan that is under $80 a month that will help me better afford my family dental care needs. I do not want a dental discount plan since I had one once and the dentist either did not take the plan or never would charge us the listed price.
