California Dental Lip Piercing seem to be causing a metallic taste in my mouth.

I pierced my lip around a week ago. Since then I had a metallic taste in my mouth. Will it eventually go away and is this normal? And how long will the piercing remain sore for? I am taking care of the piercing as instructed but it seems that it is taking a while to heal.
